MIO history:

1996: Resolution 310 - Determined our country’s Participation in Mass Transport Projects.

1997: Research on pre-feasibility and techno-economic viability;
environmental and socio-physical space of SITM.

1997: CONPES 2932 (June 25): Definition of SITM to Cali (Technology Light Rail)

1998: Authorization to constitute the Mass Transport Company, Metro Cali SA

1999: Incorporation of the Metro Cali SA; Public Deed
No. 0580 (Feb. 25).

1999: Municipal Agreement 035, March 24 for a 70% gasoline surcharge on for the SITM.

2000: Municipal Agreement, 069 October 26th: Adoption of the P.O.T

2002: CONPES 3166 (May 23): New technology for Cali and SITMS:
Design definition, participation and implementation.

2002: Municipal Council authorizes all future funding necessary for SITM: Resolution No. 049 of November

2003: Law is passed to include SITM in the National Development Plan from 2003-2006;

2004: Inclusion of SITM Project-MIO in the Mayor’s Government Plan.
